Veronica Torres Luna
Grant Writing, Youth Volunteer League Development
Veronica believes everyone deserves a high quality of life regardless of their circumstances. She is working to combat years of environmental injustice and current climate change challenges through nature-based solutions and green infrastructure. Growing up in Brighton Park, Veronica recognized the low availability of green spaces in many communities of color and its impact on the lives of its residents. Veronica has spent time in Chile where she helped plant trees to improve air quality in the community. She also traveled to the Philippines and experienced first-hand the work that Gawad Kalinga, an organization that strives to lift people out of poverty, does to improve its communities' future. At Nordson Green Earth, she assists with grant writing and leads the development of the Jr. Board. Veronica earned a B.A. from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
